HookBox Ultralight Quarantine Container

The HookBox Ultralight Quarantine Container allows for the safe transport and isolation of damaged electric vehicles. After an accident and during transport, electric vehicles pose a risk of delayed thermal runaway. A damaged battery poses a high risk for several days as it can still ignite.

Due to its low unladen weight of only 950 kg, the Quarantine Container can easily be deployed onto a tow truck bed, a flatbed, or a trailer using a winch, rollers, or a crane. Thanks to a watertight, easily maneuverable loading ramp, damaged vehicles are pulled inside using a winch attached to the carrier vehicle. It is also possible to drive roadworthy electric vehicles into the container or load them with a crane. This ramp is watertight and floodproof, ensuring the safe containment of contaminated goods and/or cooling water.

For the safe storage of dangerous goods during transport and quarantine operations, the HookBox container can be combined with a fire blanket. Certified for use up to 1,700°C (3,700°F) at peak temperatures, the Premium M fire blanket, certified to DIN SPEC 91489, acts as a fire shield. It helps control the fire and slow its spread, with a significant and immediate reduction in smoke and temperature. Toxic vapors remain under the blanket. It is also possible to add the SprayJet HV water mist cooling bar to ensure cooling action for the battery pack of an electric vehicle. In extreme cases, firefighters can connect directly to the integrated extinguishing systems via suitable fittings to flood the sealed container if necessary. With a sidewall height of 800 mm, this water level is sufficient to completely submerge the vehicle’s lithium-ion batteries. The sealed bar thus ensures safe containment of contaminated goods and/or cooling water. The container can be optionally equipped with the innovative temperature monitoring device – Vlicover IoT which constantly informs the driver of the load status and triggers an alarm in the event of an incident. In the event of an abnormal rise in temperature of the battery or goods, the driver can thus safely drop off the transport container in time and initiate fire prevention actions.
