We developed this fire blanket kit specifically for towing companies and garages. It’s a simple and cost-effective way to ensure safety during the transport and storage of damaged electric vehicles. A damaged battery poses a high risk for several days because it can still catch fire.
When an electric vehicle is involved in an accident, towing services face unique challenges. If the cells become deformed, this can lead to an internal short circuit and a battery fire.
Is the battery damaged? This isn’t always visible from the outside. To prevent a possible fire, the vehicle is safely wrapped in the VLITEX fire blanket kit.
The kit consists of a paint protection sheet, two fire blankets (top and bottom), and transport bags. It offers multiple protections: leaking liquids are contained, and in the event of a fire re-igniting, the environment is not affected, and smoke production is significantly reduced.
PREMIUM insulation blankets are tested and certified to DIN SPEC 91489:2024-11. This standard establishes clear requirements for insulation and fire containment blankets for electric vehicles: high thermal resistance to control extreme temperatures, mechanical stability ensuring cut resistance and protection, chemical resistance to prevent the spread of toxic substances, comprehensive manufacturer information to ensure safe use, and post-fire handling to ensure optimal safety.
VLITEX PREMIUM blankets, certified to DIN SPEC 91489, offer optimal protection and are a benchmark solution for safety.
Base Materials:
- 560gr/m² high temperature fiberglass fabric with a special silicone coating on both sides.
- Resistant to acids and chemicals.
- Assembled with flame retardant sewing thread.
- Fixing straps and pull handles with red silicone coating for better recognition
- Securely sewn metal eyelets.
Temperature resistance: Up to 1700°C (short term)
Reusability: Multiple – Depending on the heat load
