On October 25, 2024, a major advance in fire safety was achieved: the first standard, DIN SPEC 91489:2024-11, now establishes clear requirements for fire insulation and containment blankets for electric vehicles. VLITEX PREMIUM blankets are among the first to meet these stringent criteria, guaranteeing an effective solution in the event of a lithium-ion battery fire.

VLITEX is taking a new approach. Certified for use up to 1,700°C at peak temperatures, PREMIUM fire blankets act as a shield against fire. They help control the fire and slow its spread, with a significant and immediate reduction in smoke and temperature. Toxic fumes remain under the blanket.

Base material: 560g/m² high-temperature fiberglass fabric with a special silicone coating on both sides.
Acid and chemical resistant.
Assembled with flame-retardant sewing thread.
Fastening straps and pull handles with red silicone coating (60cm straps – L series 120cm straps)
Temperature resistance: Up to 1700°C
Reusability: Multiple – Depending on the heat load
Maintenance-free; the material is weather-resistant and does not corrode.
